Malaysia’s Homegrown Title

Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International is a homegrown title initiated by Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, and to date the Title is franchised to more than 115 countries.  This prestigious World had been the participation of more than 1200 Miss Tourism Delegates from around the world since 1993.

The Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International Pageant has brought the beauty queens across the geographical barrios towards to a common platform.  It gives an opportunity to the beauty queens of different cultural backgrounds to share, exchange and learn from one another’s experience.  The event also fosters friendship, international understanding and goodwill amongst the delegates.  Participants will visit many Tourist Spots in the promotion of Tourism for the Hosting Country.  It is also a platform to promote Tourism, Culture and Friendship through the event.

Undeniably, this spectacular international event, formerly known as Queen of the Year International, has unearthed many gems from the over. The beauty, serenity, elegance and grace of a woman had been brought to the forefront, and reasons aplenty.

Initiated in 1993, the successful organisation of the glamorous event has brought many countries together, elevating the title to its deserving universal stature. Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International does not merely make dreams of fame and fortune come true, but also sets the stage for greater understanding between the nations with a significant and subtle nuance.

THE STORY

Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, his relentless quest to take his homegrown international titles out of Malaysia, finally managed to secure a deal with his contacts in China in 2004, thereby making him the first Malaysian to take an international World Final to the Chinese mainland.

The Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International World Final was held in Changsha, Hunan Province, which saw Miss Armenia, Anush Grigoryan being crowned the winner.

From then on, 5 consecutives World Final was held in the republic, capturing millions of viewership.
